The US Unprecedented commemorative book is only four months old and has already been recognised as a best in class communication by the UK’s Institute of Internal Communications (Central Region) at an awards ceremony held Friday 28 February.
In partnership with our designers, 44 Communications, the Institute awarded National Grid’s Unprecedented, best in class in four categories including Overall Class Winner for the whole event.
- Class Winner for Best Print Design
- Class Winner for Best Writing
- Best Special Publication
- Overall Class Winner for the whole event
Given to US colleagues in November 2013 to acknowledge the year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, Unprecedented is dedicated to the memory of our co-worker Anna Gesso who lost her life the night Sandy struck.
Clive Hawkins, Global Head of Employee Communications and Media Relations attended the ceremony: “Unprecedented, brilliantly captures the spirit of our people whom worked tirelessly to meet the many needs of our communities and customers – despite some having their own personal troubles around Sandy. I am thrilled the effort to commemorate that spirit has been recognised as best in class and is a just reward for all those who contributed toward it.”
National Grid was also awarded Class Winner in the Best Website/Intranet category for UK Connecting – the interactive publication available on our website that connects National Grid with its external stakeholders. http://www.nationalgridconnecting.com/.
The UK’s Electricity Transmission Asset Management also was recognised for Best Electronic Media for their newsletters.
