In less than a year since its launch, Connecting, the online publication created to meaningfully connect with our employees and many external stakeholders on topics relevant to them, has scooped a top award.
It won the Best Website/Intranet category at the UK’s Institute of Internal Communications (Central Region) awards ceremony on Friday 28 February. http://www.nationalgridconnecting.com/.
Simon Henning, Content and Editorial Strategy Manager said: ”Through Connecting we’ve been striving to put National Grid at the heart of the conversation about important industry topics affecting our industry – the award is really welcome and adds great external recognition of the site’s value as a space for opinion and dialogue.”
It was a great night for National Grid, who picked up six gongs during the evening.
In partnership with our designers, 44 Communications, the Institute awarded National Grid’s USUnprecedented Superstorm Sandy commemorative book, best in class in four categories including Overall Class Winner for the whole event.
– Class Winner for Best Print Design
– Class Winner for Best Writing
– Best Special Publication
– Overall Class Winner for the whole event
Clive Hawkins, Global Head of Employee Communications and Media Relations attended the ceremony. He said: ”Unprecedented, brilliantly captures the spirit of our people who tirelessly worked to meet the many needs of our communities and customers, often despite their own personal troubles. I am thrilled that the effort to commemorate that spirit has been recognised as best in class and it is a just reward for all those who contributed toward it.”
Congratulations also to UK’s Electricity Transmission Asset Management team, for recognition for Best Electronic Media for their newsletters.
