The teams in Warwick and Solihull each donated £500 and staff from 14forty used it to buy blankets, towels, dinner sets, everyday items and a few treats. They then put together 28 starter packs, which will be donated to St Basil’s; a charity that supports homeless people across the West Midlands.
The Wokingham team donated £500 to the Binfield Lighthouse Programme, a local charity run by All Saints’ with St Mark’s Churches that provides home-cooked meals and shelter for the homeless and those in need.
Rachel Nyquist, 14forty Assistant Facilities Manager at Wokingham, presented Amanda Thrower from the Binfield Lighthouse Programme with 16 self-inflating mattresses, antibacterial warm winter socks and food containers; so the homeless can take a hot meal away with them when they leave the shelter.
Sara Habib, Head of Workplace Services, Business Services, said: “The teams at all three sites have done a great job. We made these donations in lieu of the fact that employees didn’t get a Christmas lunch in December. We wanted to give something back to the local community, to help people who may be struggling at this time of year.”
