17 team members from IT’s Project Management Office spent an enjoyable Community Action Day painting at The Sunshine Centre in Banbury last month.
The amazing day started with briefings from Sarah Thurling, the team leader for the day, and The Sunshine Centre Deputy Manager; explaining the plans for painting the walls in the Main Hall and the Child Focus Room. The team then spent some time protecting items from being accidentally painted on before enthusiastically rolling up their sleeves and getting ready … steady … go – making sure to paint the walls and not each other!
At the end of the day, the volunteers all agreed that it was a good feeling to know that they had given back and helped the community; and that they would thoroughly recommend volunteering and would do so again.”
Sarah said: “The day was a success and I hope the staff and families at The Sunshine Centre enjoy their improved environment and benefit from it. It was a fantastic team building exercise and a chance to get to know each other, as we are based at different sites.”
